Christchurch Round Table Donates £300 of Food to Support Local Families

Christchurch Round Table has donated £300 worth of essential food supplies to Christchurch Foodbank, helping support local families during the February half-term school holiday.

The donation was made following conversations with the Foodbank team, who explained that school holiday periods are one of the times when demand is highest, as many families face additional financial pressure when children are at home and free school meals are unavailable.

Supporting Our Local Community

At Christchurch Round Table, supporting our local community is at the heart of everything we do. Alongside our regular social events and activities, we dedicate time and resources throughout the year to fundraising, volunteering, and practical support for local causes.

This donation was focused on providing essential everyday food items, ensuring the Foodbank could continue supporting individuals and families across Christchurch and the surrounding Dorset area.

We were pleased to deliver the donation in person and to see first-hand the incredible work being done by the volunteers at Christchurch Foodbank, who provide vital support to hundreds of local people every week.

Why School Holidays Matter

The Foodbank team highlighted that the weeks leading up to and during school holidays — including half term, Easter and the summer break — are some of their busiest periods.

During these times, household costs rise, childcare arrangements can change, and food budgets are stretched further than usual. Donations made around these periods help ensure families receive the support they need when it matters most.

Thank You to Christchurch Foodbank

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Christchurch Foodbank for the tireless work they do for our community. Their commitment, compassion, and dedication make a real difference to local lives.

Christchurch Round Table is proud to support such an important local organisation and we look forward to continuing our partnership in the future.
